With the 22nd edition of CINECITY just around the corner, here’s an update of what’s selling fast so that you don’t miss out.
NEARLY SOLD OUT:
Our opening night film A REAL PAIN is very nearly SOLD OUT. Be quick to get tickets for this “deft, funny, heady, beautifully staged ramble of a road movie” – our festival opener and anticipated preview ahead of it’s January 2025 release.
NIGHTBITCH is also selling fast – this “bizarre and brilliant film” based on the 2019 novel by Rachel Yoder, with a “brilliant and potentially award-winning performance” from Amy Adams.
This year’s CINEMAS OF THE MIND screening will be SALT OF THE EARTH. This fascinating documentary portrait traces the career of outstanding Brazilian photographer, Sebastião Salgado. Co-directed by his son Juliano Salgado, and Wim Wenders.
SOLD OUT:
I’M STILL HERE has now SOLD OUT. However, there’s still plenty on offer across the festival on that date. The masterful return of Mike Leigh to chronicling the lives of ordinary people in contemporary Britain with HARD TRUTHS. Combining noir intrigue with the supernatural and uncanny scientific mysteries beyond the ordinary laws of time and space THE UNIVERSAL THEORY is a richly atmospheric and stylish thriller with nods to Hitchcock.

UK PREMIERE SCREENING of FLOWERS OF UKRAINE. This acclaimed documentary captures Natalia’s rebellious spirit and humour as she sets out to protect her land and refuses to give up against all the odds.
DON’T MISS OUT SEEING THEM ON THE BIG SCREEN:
Calling all fans of cult 1990s indie band Pavement. PAVEMENTS appears to be just another music documentary—until it isn’t. Part-documentary, part-biopic, part-stage musical – but all Pavement.
BIRDSONG – ornithologist Seán Ronayne from County Cork is on a mission to record the sound of every bird species in Ireland – that’s nearly 200 birds. This screening will be introduced by Mike Unwin, a writer who specialises in natural history and conservation.
