Yn y Golau (In The Light)

Based on the science of photonics (the physical science of light waves), Yn y Golau (In the Light) follows two dancers on a journey through different natural light phenomena; from the big bang, to the reflected light on the moon, to the intensity of the sun and its life-giving properties on earth, to bioluminescence on the ocean floor. The narrative is juxtaposed with human scale (real and perceived) encouraging reflection on environmental sustainability.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion exploring the creative approaches to access with and for visually impaired people.  The panel will include Kate Lawrence and members of the creative team who worked on Yn y Golau (live from Wales) alongside Brighton-based choreographer and film-maker Jo Cork (in-person). Topics that may arise include the potential of 360 sound and other technological means to convey meaning, creative approaches to audio description and inclusive production approaches.

This work is accessible for D/deaf, visually impaired, blind and sighted audience members. It includes embedded audio description and captions (narrative only).
